Personal Pronouns

Due to the extensive case-system of Võro, there are many pronouns which need remembering. However, this is simplified as most of them in the cases are built off the Genitive case pronouns. Also making it simpler, is a lack of distinction between male and female pronouns, however, most pronouns have a short as well as long version making personal pronouns quite extensive in their numbers. Below is a table with the basic pronouns in Nominative, Partitive and Genitive. For help on pronouncing the additional letters to the Võro language which Estonian does not have, see the Võro Sounds page.

Võro Personal Pronouns
Nominative Long Nominative Short Partitive Genitive
1sg mina ma minno muq
2sg sina sa sinno suq
3sg timä/tiä tedä timä
1pl miiq mi meid mii
2pl tiiq ti teid tii
3pl nimäq nääq näid näide

Interrogative Pronouns

Interrogative pronouns are those pronouns you use to replace nouns, but when asking a question. Hence the interrogative. The following interrogative pronouns exist in Võro and are used often to ask questions. The Estonian Interrogative pronouns are also added for comparison.
