An Introduction to the Language
Võro is a Finno-Ugric language. It is argued whether it counts as a separate language to Estonian or not, or whether it is a dialect. The Võro language is the major sub-dialect of what is effectively known as the Southern Estonian Dialect. The other two smaller sub-dialects are Seto and Tartu which are quite similar to Võro. Like it's mother Estonian, Võro is highly agglutinative employing fifteen-odd productive cases and a few more unproductive. Unlike Estonian however, and like all its relatives, Võro has vowel harmony.
