An Introduction to the Language
History
The Ukrainian language is an East Slavic language written in cyrillic spoken mostly in Ukraine. It traces its roots back to the old slavic language and is closely related to Russian and Belorussian. Despite several bans of use and discouragement from the government and occupiers, the Ukrainian language has persevered and lived on mostly through literature, folk music and art.
