Infinitive

The infinitive in Slovenian ends in either -ti (e.g. delati) or in -či (e.g. teči).

Participle

The participle is formed by adding the endings -l, -la, -lo, -la, -li, -li, -li, -le, -la to the stem. The participle differs in grammatical gender and number

Preterite Tense

The preterite tense is formed from the present tense form of the verb biti and the participle.

Future Tense

The future tense is formed from the future tense form of the verb biti and the participle.

Conditional

The conditional is formed from the conditional particle 'bi' and the participle.

• The 3rd person plural of the Future tense has two equal forms - bojo and bodo

Negation

Negation is formed with the particle ne, which is placed in front of the verb and spelled separately. The only verb forms where the n(e) particle is spelled together with the verb are the negative present forms of biti, imeti and hoteti.
