Romanian nouns have two numbers (singular and plural), three genders (masculine, feminine and neuter) and five cases (nominative, accusative, genitive, dative, vocative) with two separate case forms (nominative-accusative and genitive-dative), the vocative being a possible third form, but less used and most of the time identical to the nominative.

When discussing the nouns in Romanian, it's useful to be aware of the articles that are used. Definite articles in Romanian are appended to the noun (they are enclitic). Indefinite ones come in front.
