Usage

In Brazil, the most common way to express "you" among friends is with você, which you'll uses verbs conjugated in the third singular. The plural of this is vocês, which uses verbs in the third plural. The polite form of você in Brazil is o senhor for a male, or a senhora for a female in the singular, and then os senhors or as senhoras. Tu is almost never used.

In Portugal, tu is used among friends. Você is used when being polite, and vocês is most commonly used for the plural politely and in the familiar.

In all of the Portuguese speaking world, vós is seen as very archaic and is almost never used.
