Introduction

Adjectives in Old Norse fall into two main types; strong and weak.

Strong Declension

The adjective endings differ slightly from those of the nouns. Whenever the ending begins with u, the stem vowel is subject to the same u-umlaut found among the nouns. This umlaut is also found in other situations where the ending no longer displays u; such forms are so marked.
