An Introduction to the Language
German (Deutsch,[ˈdɔʏtʃ]) is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. It is one of the world's major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. German sports a number of widely differing dialects, some of which are still under debate over whether or not they should even be called dialects of German. Dialectical differences in German consist mainly of pronunciation and casal variations.
