Jónné Kjél is a conlang influenced greatly by Finnish and Estonian. It has a little bit of influence from other Finno-Ugric languages such as Hungarian.

Phonology

In Jónné kjél there are a few unique features, I will explain these features separately and in detail as I come to them.

Vowel harmony

Vowels are split up into three sections:

Front vowels in single and double versions

  • ä - ã = /æ/ - /æ:/
  • ö - õ = /ø/ - /ø:/
  • ü - ũ = /y/ - /y:/

Neutral vowels in single and double versions

  • e - é = /e/ - /e:/
  • i - í = /i/ - /i:/

Back vowels in single and double versions

  • a - á = /a/ - /a:/
  • o - ó = /o/ - /o:/
  • u - ú = /u/ - /u:/

Consonants

b = /b/

d = /d/

ð = /ð/

f = /f/

g = /g/

h = /h/

j = /j/

k = /k/

l = /l/

m = /m/

n = /n/

p = /p/

q = /?/

r = /r/

s = /s/

t = /t/

þ = /þ/

v = /v/

x = /x/

z = /z/

Special Consonants

The following consonants require special consideration

  • d + j, i, or e = [ɟ]
  • t + j, i, or e = [c]
  • g + j, i, or e = [ʝ]
  • k + j, i, or e = [ç]
  • s + j, i, or e = [ʃ]
  • z + j, i, or e = [ʒ]
  • l + j = [ʎ]
  • n + j = [ɲ]
  • q is only used at the ends of words and takes on a sound somewhat like an unreleased consonant
  • x is only used in the vihastive case

Pronouns

Pronouns, like those in the other Finno-Ugric langs, inflect for case and number, but not for gender.

Personal Pronouns

Personal Pronouns are taken mostly from the Finnic langs. Their influence is considerably more that of Estonian than that of Finnish.

Reflexive Pronoun

The reflexive particle is itjé. This follows the verb and uses one of the possessive endings to agree with the person.

Relative Pronoun

Unlike other Finnic langs, there is only one relative pronoun in Jónné. This is mí and it's optionally inflecting.

Indefinite Pronouns

There are a number of indefinite pronouns in Jónné kjél. The ones available so far are:

  • jaungu = somebody
  • jaungénen = everybody

While/During

To say that something occurs while something else is happening, you use the word méllän before the second verb.

Physical passing

To say that something is physically gone, that is, it was here but it has left, you would use the word bujéz with the copula.

Verbs

Verbs conjugate in the present tense similar to the copula verb áulla except that the third person forms are irregular. There is also a negative verb that can be conjugated to negate verbs.

There is a possessive particle for each person:
