Basic Word Order
Since verbs in Chinese don't conjugate, the word order becomes very important in Chinese sentences.
In normal Chinese declarative sentences, word order is the same as that in English, namely subject + verb + object, examples:
我喜欢他。 I like him.
他是老师。 He is a teacher.
明天我吃蛋糕。 Tomorrow I will eat cake.
